Self Chatter is a personal self-reflection tool. We take your privacy seriously—especially because the thoughts you share here are deeply personal.

What We Collect
Information You Provide
- Account information: Your email address and name (when you register)
- Google account data: If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email from Google
- Your reflections: The focus thoughts and journal entries you create
Information Collected Automatically
- Usage data: Pages visited, time spent, browser type, device type, IP address
- Cookies: Small files stored on your device to keep you logged in and remember your preferences
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide and maintain the self-reflection tool
- Keep you logged in across sessions
- Save and display your reflections
- Improve the service based on how it’s used
- Contact you about important updates (rarely)
We do not:
- Sell your personal data
- Use your reflections for advertising
- Share your journal entries with other users
AI Processing (Important)
Self Chatter uses Claude, an AI assistant by Anthropic, to generate reflection suggestions based on what you write.
What this means:
- When you use the reflection tool, your focus thought and reflections are sent to Anthropic’s API
- Anthropic processes this data to generate helpful suggestions
- According to Anthropic’s policy, data sent through their API is not used to train their AI models

We use cookies for:

- Delete your account and all associated data
- Export your data
- Withdraw consent at any time

Data Retention
- Your account and reflections are kept as long as your account is active
- If you request deletion, we will remove your data within 30 days
- Some data may be retained longer if required by law
